Dikembe Mutombo On Making Organized Sports Accessible To Everyone

July 27 2017

Dikembe Mutombo is one of the most recognizable players in Atlanta Hawks history. Now retired, the seven-foot-two-inch centre spent five seasons in Atlanta, and was a defensive powerhouse in the NBA for 18 seasons. Since his retirement, Mutombo has focused heavily on his philanthropic and community work. His latest endeavour is here at FlipGive, where he is working to help bridge the gap between the cost of youth sports, and the lengths parents need to go in order to make sure their kids can participate. GPB talked with Mutombo about that effort, and we also heard from Haley Hill of the Tybee Island YMCA, which is a branch of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. Check out Dikembe's interview below, or click here for the full show.
